Shoshanna holds a Bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, a Master of Arts in Holistic Thinking from The Graduate Institute – a program designed to foster scholars and activists in emerging and contemporary fields of study based in Bethany, Connecticut – and a Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Shoshanna lobbied for medical marijuana before Connecticut's General Assembly in 2005, going on to serve as a Human Rights Fellow for the American Civil Liberties Union then a consultant to the State of Connecticut evaluating the implementation of prisoner reentry programs. She has served as a member of the City of Hartford’s Juvenile Review Board (a balanced & restorative approach to justice), CT’s Sentencing Task Force and its Juvenile Justice Policy & Operations Council. She has been a featured blogger on CuttingEdgeLaw.com and Ms. JD. She has been a guest lecturer for the New Paradigms in Law class offered at the Touro Law Center in Central Islip, New York and for Pepperdine University's Department of Public Policy and is a contributing author to Lawyers as Changemakers: The Global Integrative Law Movement, published by the American Bar Association in 2016.
Shoshanna began working on the business side of the Cannabis space in 2015, after completing her JD. She worked with Electrum Partners in its early stages and went on from there to work with companies such as CannaRegs (a legal tech platform for the Cannabis industry) and GeekTek, a digital security company Shoshanna guided into the Cannabis space from its operations in other sectors.
